Located at www.monticelloar.org, the website is designed as a one-stop-site to which a range of Monticello resources can be linked, while still communicating City of Monticello’s messaging in an exciting and engaging way that tailors to its four key audiences: citizens, visitors, potential residents, and media.
The site organizes information including community resource for visitors looking for things to do, residents searching for community resources, and citizens accessing city government services into portals. The website includes new online resources ranging from interactive maps with city/ county data (like property data, voting districts, & flood zones) to online help desk for residents.
“We are constantly seeking to improve the delivery of services to our residents, visitors and businesses,” said Mayor Tucker. “We are excited to provide more information and resources to our citizens as part of the Open Government Initiative. The site will evolve and grow over time, as more resources are made available online.”
The website also features the city’s new brand (logo and slogan), “We’re Ready!”, which the Mayor rolled out with the launch of the site. The rationale for the “We’re Ready!” brand is simple. While communicating a compelling message of unity using the word “we,” the brand captures our culture of a positive vision of the people, the perception of expected growth of the community, and the preparedness for new industries, families & visitors while evoking a sense of heritage by highlighting the community’s roots in Rough & Ready Hill.
Tucker continued, “the brand offers the opportunity for a positive modern consistent look and feel that can be applied city-wide.” The Mayor hopes other organizations in business and tourism recruitment start using the brand to create a unified message for the entire city.
