Across the country, over 2,800 mayors and county administrators will be leading their communities in recognizing and committing to community service and volunteerism; In partnership with the Corporation of National & Community Service, National League of Cities, and local Americorp teams.
This year, the Mayor has dedicated the service day to benefit our local veterans.
Following the ribbon cutting of the new Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office at the Drew Count Courthouse at 1:00PM, there will be a service recognition ceremony held in McCloy Park at 2:30PM.
After a brief presentation, community volunteers will be asked to join Americorp workers and UAM students to help with landscaping at the American Legion Hunt.
